Arguably the most amazing thing to have happened to the Indian sneaker scene, the single most joyous event in the lives of Indian sneakerheads, and my wifes worst nightmare - the Myntra Sneakers Club.
A couple weeks ago Myntra just dropped some of amazing sneakers including the much anticipated Nike Air Forces, a bunch of Air Jordans, Adidas EQTs, Boosts, some dope New Balances and a bunch of others silhouettes that I cannot believe have just been dropped, here at home. No doubt most of us would have to sell a kidney or something to buy any of these shoes, they are ridiculously expensive! but that's the life we chose, life of a sneakerhead. No one said it'd be easy and the Indian tax system sure doesn't help. But oh, I digress, this ones for Myntra and a BIG Thank You for dropping some really really serious heat.
Here are some of my favorite picks, mind you it wasn't easy picking out just a few, they're all freakin' awesome. So, in no particular order, here goes:
Adidas Originals Superstar BOOST: What do you get when add Boost tech to one of the most loved sneakers in the world? Awesomeness! and this sneaker is made of 100% pure Awesomesauce
Puma Clyde: Sure it's not real snakeskin, but that don't mean these joints are any less slick. This is the kinda stuff that makes this Sneaker Club serious, it's not just about the popular sneakers but GOOD sneakers and these Clyde's are just it. Look at the premium red!
Adidas Originals EQT Support: This was probably one of the biggest releases from Adidas so far this year. And what's awesome is that it's available right here, in India. Oh and if you're wondering why its made the cut, it's got a Boost midsole and they look remarkably similar to the Yeezys.
Puma Roma 80s OG: My second Puma pick and not for nothing. These are OGs! the real deal, rocking retros, so no surprises that these made the cut. Plus who doesn't like lovely blue sneakers, huh?
New Balance 247 Luxe: The name says it all, they're super luxurious and so comfy that you could wear them 24/7. These come in 3 colorways but I'd go with the brown ones. They look so versatile, you could team these shoes with almost anything. And given that they're sold out almost everywhere in the world this may just be your last chance to bag them.
Reebok Zoku Runner: Now usually I do not like shoes that look like socks. I won't pay thousands for a pair of socks. This one however, is an exception to the rule. The silhouette takes cues from some of Reebok's most popular models such as the Aztec Runner and the Classics. No wonder they're so popular. Got to say, Reebok back baby!
Nike Blazer PRM: Amidst the Retro Runner madness, Nike just dropped one of their most versatile and adored sneakers, the Blazer. These overly underrated sneakers have made many a feet look good since the time they were dropped back in 1973. Loved and worn by many celebs over the years, these sneakers are available to us in 2 colorways, blue & beige. And they're both lovely.
Nike Air Force 1 Ultraforce: You take one of the most revered sneaker silhouettes in the world, scoop out the bulk to make it feather-light and you got a winner. You cannot call yourself a sneakerhead if you do not have a pair of Nike Air Force's in your collection. These are just as worthy in my opinion.
Asics Gel Lyte III: Asics Tiger is a cult brand, it has die-hard loyalists and this is one it's most popular models. You do the math, this sneaker is a legend gentlemen. It should be an honor to wear it. Personally, I love the maroon colorway to death, but you can feel free to pick yours out.
